La memoria ondulante: el moralismo de Montaigne y la escritura periodística contemporánea.

Abstract

A finales del siglo XVI, Montaigne intenta expresar la realidad cambiante y vertiginosa de su tiempo (exploración de América, revolución copernicana, guerras de religion, etc) por medio de un nuevo artefacto expresivo y comunicativo al que dará el nombre de ensayo. Éste será el vehículo más representativo del pensamiento moderno, diferenciado del “tractatus”, la “summa” o la “relectio” escolásticas. En el siglo XX, con la consolidación de las ciencias sociales y la tranformación de la filosofía en hermenéutica, el legado del ensayo fundacional, el de Montaigne, se desplazará hacia la escritura periodística. Zweig, Kapuscinski y Pla, entre otros, asumieron esa herencia de manera explícita.

In the late sixteenth century, Montaigne attempts to express the changing and vertiginous reality of his time (discovery of America, Copernican revolution, wars of religion, etc.) through a new expressive and communicative artifact that will be named “essay”. It will be the most representative of modern thought vehicle, in contrast to the scholastic tractatus, summa or relectio. In the twentieth century, due to the consolidation of the social sciences and the transformation of philosophy in hermeneutics, the legacy of the founding or original essay of Montaigne often moves into journalistic writing. Zweig, Kapuscinski and Pla, among many others, assumed that inheritance in an explicit way.
