This paper explores the Spanish film industry to analyze the evolution of Spanish movie theater revenues up to December 2021 using both aggregated and disaggregated data by area of origin. Based on fractional integration methods, the results showed a change in persistence in the series as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Lower degrees of persistence are observed in the aggregated data and in the series related with the US, implying shorter effects of shocks in these cases. Nevertheless, a substantial increase in persistence after the Covid-19 is observed in all series.spa
