Programa de educación para la salud sobre los retinoblastomas.

Abstract

En los últimos años, han aumentado las cifras de niños con cáncer, convirtiéndose dicha enfermedad en la primera causa de muerte por enfermedad hasta los 14 años. Son muchos los tipos de cáncer infantil que se tratan hoy en día y muchas las zonas a las que puede afectar, siendo uno de estos tipos el retinoblastoma. El retinoblastoma es el tumor maligno ocular más frecuente en la infancia, y el segundo tumor intraocular primario de todos los grupos de edad. Aunque no es uno de los que mayor incidencia tiene, pues oscila en torno al 3%, si es una de las que mejor pronóstico pueden tener si se diagnostica a tiempo. Partiendo de esta idea, en el presente trabajo, se expone un plan de educación a los profesionales de enfermería, para así fomentar el aprendizaje sobre los conocimientos de esta enfermedad y conseguir por tanto un diagnostico lo más precoz posible. Con este programa no solo nos quedamos ahí, si no que queremos llegar más lejos, instruyendo a dichos profesionales a impartir charlas a todos los interesados en el tema para así conseguir que el conocimiento de esta enfermedad llegue a todo el mundo y con ello se reduzca cada vez más su incidencia.

In the last years, the figures of children with cancer has increased, turning this disease the first cause of death by disease up to 14 years. A lot of types of childhood cancer are treated today and many areas that it can affect, being one of these types the retinoblastoma. Retinoblastoma is the most common childhood malignancy tumor eye, and the second primary intraocular tumor of all age groups. Although it is not one with the highest incidence, as it ranges around 3%, it is one that can have a better prognosis if it is diagnosed on time. Starting off this idea, in this work, an education plan is exposed to nurses, to promote learning and knowledge about this disease and getting a diagnosis as soon as possible. With this program we not only focus in this, so that we want to go further, instructing these professionals to give talks to everyone interested in the subject in order to get the knowledge of this disease reaches everyone and thereby reduce increasing incidence.
