In particular, we take into consideration the text "The End of the Modern World" and his manuscripts on Nietzsche, published in the volume of the Opera Omnia "Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Sémer". We make this comparison because, at first glance, in the first text the idea of an inevitable opposition between the contemporary world and Christianity clearly emerges, whereas, in the unpublished manuscripts, Guardini proposes a personal reading of "Thus Spoke Zarathustra", moving from direct criticism to an appreciation of Nietzsche's words. The Italian-German thinker further asserts that atheism is a reaction to an inadequate way of living the faith, a closing off in the face of a false image of God. The believer can then understand secularization as a form of purification of his own faith. Finally, Guardini emphasizes in various works that God, as creator, is the one who gives us our world. Therefore, human life is intrinsically good and every human being is called by God, regardless of whether they are a believer or not, to make their own existence flourish. Considering in depth these openings of his toward the secularized world, we aim to offer an analysis of Guardini's contribution to the debate on secularization, going beyond Rosino Gibellini's reading [Machine translation into English; original language: Spanish.]14253868itahttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Il nostro mare ci sta di nuovo aperto innanzi.
