The main goal of Guzmán’s study was to situate in the stemma codicum an ancient manuscript owned by Páez de Castro that was used by Andrés Laguna when translating the Dioscorides. We reconsider Guzmán’s initial hypothesis that the entirety of the marginal notes that Laguna included in his translation originated in this manuscript, and we do so in light of another work by Laguna, Annotationes in Dioscoridem Anazarbeum. Our analysis reveals an even closer link between Páez’s manuscript and codex R.III.3 from El Escorial than Guzmán Guerra previously thought, showing that they are, in fact, one and the same.18400183spainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessAndrés LagunaDioscoridesEl EscorialGuzmán GuerraPáez de CastroR.III.3manuscriptCultura clásicaLengua y lingüísticaLingüística y lenguajeSiSiEl manuscrito de Páez de Castro y el escurialense R.III.3 : revisión del estudio de Antonio Guzmán GuerraThe manuscript of Páez de Castro and the R.III.3 from El Escoriala review of Antonio Guzmán Guerra’s study/dk/atira/pure/researchoutput/researchoutputtypes/contributiontojournal/systematicreview10.5209/cfcg.96369https://www.scopus.com/pages/publications/105001567470https://www.scopus.com/pages/publications/105001567470#tab=citedBy
