El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar su evolución durante el primer tercio del siglo XX, poniendo especial foco en la complicada posición ideológica de un católico liberal como Niceto Alcalá-Zamora, y especialmente a partir de su etapa al frente de la Presidencia del Gobierno Provisional, cuando las Cortes Constituyentes aprobaron los artículos 3, 26 y 27 en relación con la cuestión religiosa.In the 19th century, a secular and anticlerical movement had stared to germinate in Spain, fully present during the reign of Alfonso XIII, which was to emerge after the proclamation of the Second Republic.
