Para ello se revisa la teoría freudiana del origen del yo, proponiendo la noción de imago primordial como su configuración inicial, propia de la fase del narcisismo primario y anterior a la aparición de todo objeto diferenciado, que solo conoce por eso —y aquí se introduce la teoría de la Gestalt— de la dialéctica de la figura y el fondo. Se sostiene, así, que la primera forma, la primera imago —constituida al modo de una sinestesia generalizada de la imago ma-terna asociada a la vivencia de satisfacción originaria—, por constituir la primera experiencia de deseo, constituye, a su vez, el paradigma de la belleza. Y del prestigio del círculo, que queda así explicado en términos psicoanalíticos.Beauty requires good form, but good form is not enough to define beauty. To this end, the Freudian theory of the origin of the self is reviewed, proposing the notion of primordial imago as its initial configuration, typical of the phase of primary narcissism and prior to the appearance of any differentiated object, which it only knows because of that —and here it is introduced Gestalt theory —the dialectic of figure and ground. It is thus maintained that the first form, the first imago —constituted in the manner of a generalized synesthesia of the maternal imago associated with the experience of original satisfaction—, by constituting the first experience of desire, constitutes, in turn, the paradigm of beauty.
