Using records in the Web of Science from 2022 to 2025, the researchers identify 48 documents. The theoretical foundations of this research line are analysed by studying the evolution of citations in the last four years and the interactions between them. Two bibliometric techniques were applied for this analysis: co-citation, to introduce the descriptive analysis of the network, and bibliographical coupling, to perform a group and factor analysis. The results highlight the absence of a single theoretical framework and reveal key connections between research lines and the need for future research on trust-building mechanisms across VC investment stages and syndication structures.243360546enghttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/bibliometric analysisentrepreneurshipinternational new venturesinternationalisationinvestment cycleknowledgenetwork embeddednesssocial capitalsyndicationVCventure capitalBusiness and International ManagementManagement Science and Operations ResearchYesyesHow venture capital increases international new venture knowledge : theoretical bases and emerging topicsCómo el capital riesgo incrementa el conocimiento de las nuevas empresas internacionalesbases teóricas y temas emergentesjournal articleopen access10.1504/IJMED.2026.157055https://www.scopus.com/pages/publications/105054147483https://www.scopus.com/pages/publications/105054147483#tab=citedBy
