It argues that the consistent guarantee of Israel’s Qualitative Military Edge (QME) has empowered the country to act with increasing autonomy, sometimes in tension with U.S. regional interests. Drawing on a historical and geopolitical analysis, the study explores how shifts in global power dynamics, domestic political pressures in the U.S., and the consequences of the 2023 Gaza War have opened a new phase in the bilateral alliance marked by asymmetry and renegotiation.301116691spainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessforeign policyIsraelproxy strategyUnited StatesProxy strategyForeign policyHistoriaArte y humanidades (miscelánea)Ciencias sociales (miscelánea)FilosofíaSociología y ciencias políticasSiSi77 años de alianza estratégica : la evolución histórica de la relación entre Estados Unidos e Israel77 Years of Strategic AllianceThe Historical Evolution of the US-Israel Relationship/dk/atira/pure/researchoutput/researchoutputtypes/contributiontojournal/article10.12795/araucaria.2025.i59.05https://www.scopus.com/pages/publications/105008267622https://www.scopus.com/pages/publications/105008267622#tab=citedBy
