Abstract

Through a qualitative content analysis of Spanish newspaper articles, this article examines the press coverage of the Monarch’s role as the leading figure in diplomatic relations between Spain and democratic Europe during the Spanish transition to democracy. This piece of research could be likewise considered as a draft of the published image of Monarchy and Western Europe during those critical years of political change.
