Abstract

The article shows the origins and development of nanotechnology. The production and marketing of nanoproducts are a challenge when it comes to respecting the interests of human beings, and to preserving environmental and economic balance. Biosafety in component manufacturing as well as its environmental impact are the main protagonists in the ethical reflection. Nanotechnology offers an opportunity to improve the lives of people, but can also be a cause of socioeconomic imbalance, a contributor to the arms race and a threat to human nature. While always trying not to lose the ethical perspective of such a technologized world, we collect the most important recommendations that should govern this innovative process in all its aspects, the procedural guidelines, and other issues of a more philosophical nature.
