Abstract
The historical present is an accumulation of the past that has made it possible. To make reference to such accumulation is precisely what one means by “to narrate.” Both, Ortega y Gasset and Ricoeur, spoke of “narrative reason”, which for the former means “historical reason”. But according to the author, historical reason does not express all that man is, so he appeals to a sensitized intelligence for understanding not only the historical being through an inventive organization of events, but also the ontological foundation of man.
