Abstract
Jesuit education resorts to different extracurricular activities (theatre, public examinations and a variety of cultural activities) trying to promote the emulation, to increase the prestige of the school and to break with the monotony that can occur in academic instruction, without interrupting the educational process. The study of these activities shows, on one side, the richness and the success of a centered educative model, above all, in the harmony between science and religion, the gradation of studies, participative teaching, and the friendly relations developed between teachers and pupils, and on the other side, the limits and the unfeasibility of a model that pretends to isolate the pupil from the world around him.
