Abstract
The present work is a brief historical compendium that can answer questions on the use of these resources such as: when the audio-visual material was in use for the first time in the language teaching, when the teachers started using language laboratories or in what moment they started using the new technology resources. Anthony (1963), Sanchez (1992), and recently Mayor (2011) and Brown (2011), toether with the last updated research of Richards and Rodgers (2014) analysed the history of language teaching methodology. We are not going to into any great detail regarding this development, but will rather focus our study on the Resources and didactic materials that were in use for the first time in each of them. This perspective will help us to define what we really wish to take place in the Language Classroom.
