Abstract

This article shows, in the context of German romanticism, the contribution of women to the development of culture, on the one hand and, on the other, how the involvement of women in writing through their education and intelligence, inspired several thinkers of the time, especially two philosophers: Friedrich Schlegel and Friedrich Schleiermacher. For both the female presence was a source of inspiration for their works and, in the case of Schleiermacher to develop his own ethical ideas. Both recognized the value of women as essential to man, because through the woman, the man can find redemption. She is also, for both, not only able to stand on her own, but also able to create communities of love (friendship/marriage).
