Abstract

In this article, we examine the biological concept of race, both philosophically and scientifically. First, we will deal with Michel Foucault’s critique of racism from his bio - politics and, in a second major section, we will explore the history of science to discover if biological racism has any scientific basis. The most important general result is that the biological concept of race derives from the power struggle between societies and their members which subordinates science to preserve their political-racial hegemony.
