Abstract
Through a comparison of texts by Newman and Lewis, the author shows the relationship between the two in their analysis of the relationship between faith and reason. The paper points out the parallelism in the three natural ways of religious knowledge: human intelligence, experience in life, and the witness of Tradition. It shows how both Newman and Lewis attempted to understand their own “intelligence of faith” in relation to their understanding of reality in such a way that faith would have a real impact on life.
